TESDA suspends all classes in training centers in the province of Cebu amid COVID-19 threat

The coronavirus disease-2019 or novel coronavirus continues to spread across the world and has infected thousands of people in different countries. The lethal virus also triggers people fear and panic.

CEBU City Mayor Edgardo Labella has suspended classes in all levels, both public and private schools, in Cebu City starting March 16 to March 28, 2020 as precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19). As published in SunStar Cebu last Friday, March 13, 2020.

As such, TESDA released an advisory on the same day that all Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and Tesda Technology Institutions (TTIs) shall adhere to the said issuance.

This advisory was sent to all Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs)’ administrators within Cebu.

One TVI administrator asked to clarify if ESL schools are included in this advisory.

This was clarified by TESDA that all TVIs including ESL Schools are suspended within Cebu City only.
