1. Marigondon Public Beach

Despite the fact that it is a public beach, it is regarded as one of the best in the Philippines.
On weekends, people flock to the beach’s stunning white sands and pure waters.

Aside from matching the beauty of 5-star resorts, the coral reefs 300 yards off the shore make it a popular destination for scuba divers due to its accessibility.

Entrance fee: None as of the moment

HOW TO GET THERE?

BY CAR (recommended): Marigondon Beach is only a short drive from Mactan Cebu International Airport. Set the destination to “Marigondon Beach” in Waze or Google Maps.

2. Mactan Newtown Beach

One of Mactan’s favorite beach destinations is the pet-friendly beach property. With white, sandy beaches and an entrance fee of P150 on weekdays and P200 on weekends, it is unquestionably one of Mactan’s most gorgeous and affordable jewel spots to spend a hot day.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact location: Mactan Newtown Beach, Lapu-Lapu City — approx. 45 mins to 1 hour from Cebu City.

It is recommended that you bring your own vehicle. There is plenty of parking available.

The most convenient mode of transportation is to take a taxi/Grab. If you are from Cebu City, the price would be between 150 and 200 pesos (good for 4pax). If you want to ride a jeepney, check for those departing from Parkmall or Hi-way Mandaue for Soong. Then instruct the driver to drop you off at Barangay Angasil on your way to Mactan Newtown Beach. Hire a motorbike (habal-habal) to take you to the resort.

3. Crab Island

Crab Island is already well-known among Mactan residents. However, not many people are aware of this “secret paradise.” Technically, there is no entrance fee, but some locals may charge you ₱10 per person for “leisure purposes,” which we propose as a contribution to the preservation of this site.

How to get there?

Travel time: 1-2 hours from Cebu City + ~10 minutes going to the Crab Island.

BY JEEPNEY: Take a 01k jeepney from Cebu City to Parkmall (₱10/head). Take a Soong (Crossing Marigondon) from Parkmall for ₱15. Inform the jeepney driver to drop you off at the Ylaya crossing. From there, take a tricycle (₱7/head) to Crab Island and walk for about 6-7 minutes to the island.

BY V-HIRE: Take a v-hire from SM City Cebu to Gaisano Island Mall Mactan. Take a Soong (Crossing Marigondon) from Gaisano for ₱15 per person. Inform the jeepney driver to drop you off at the Ylaya crossing. From there, take a tricycle (₱7/head) to Crab Island and walk for about 6-7 minutes to the island.

Exact Location: Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu
