The island of Cebu is not only a favorite destination of many Filipinos but as well of its neighboring countries.
Cebu has been drawing attraction to tourists because of its English as Second Language (ESL) Program, unique cuisine, ease in air transfer, and scenic destinations perfect for travel and leisure.
With a lot to do in historic sites, mountain peaks, world-class diving sites, coastal towns, white sandy beaches and the surrounding islands of Cebu, it’s no wonder why the province has drawn visitors, adventurers and explorers all through these years.
The sheer number of things to do for the summer is almost unlimited, with all the island hopping and beach parties to be enjoyed in Cebu.
But if one decides to stay away from the usual summer activity, Cebu rises to the occasion to offer just that.
Here are some beaches to visit in Cebu to make your summer 2020 a summer to remember!
1. Bantayan Island
Bantayan Island is the perfect place to truly experience the island vibe everyone has been talking about.
Head over to Santa Fe where white sandy beaches and clear waters make it great for swimming.
At night, bonfires can be lit and relaxing on the beach is a must.
If not, a stroll through town is in order, where an island party is always happening.
2. Malapascua Island
Located in the northern Cebu is the beautiful island of Malapascua.
The beach has really fine white sand and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming.
Other activities on the island include wreck diving and scuba diving with the thresher sharks.
Malapascua’s sunrise view is also the best!
3. Moalboal
Instead of spending the day on the beach, a highly recommended thing to do in Moalboal would be to rent a boat and head out to Pescador Island.
Teeming with colorful marine life, Pescador is a snorkeling paradise that everyone must visit to appreciate.
On the way back, make a stop at the infamous Sardine Run off the shore of Moalboal.
The sea may seem dark but once in the water, one will realize that the sheer number of sardines is the culprit behind such illusion.
4. Sumilon Island
Sumilon Island is famous for its sandbars and glamping (glamorous camping).
It’s just across the whale-watching site in Oslob; about a 30-minute boat ride.
The sands here are really fine and super white.
You won’t want to go home when you’re in Sumilon.
It’s an island you can call your own.
5. Carnaza Island
If enjoying nature, both jungle and sea, is on the bucket list, then head off to Carnaza Island.
A turtle-shaped island off the coast of Daanbantayan, Carnaza is for those adventurers who seek to travel the path less taken.
With a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, getting in touch with one’s inner self is totally achievable here.
Pitching a tent is one’s best bet but bed spaces are available for those who wish to visit the island.
6. Camotes Island
Camotes Island is known for its beautiful beaches and Santiago Bay is one of them.
You can get an accommodation at one of their resorts for as low as 17 USD (a fan room).
Other activities in Camotes include cliff diving and spelunking.
You can also head to Lake Danao and play Kayaking to complete your summer getaway.
7. Tingko Beach of Alcoy
Two hours from Cebu is Tingko Beach of Alcoy.
The waters are a little deep, so it’s not ideal for swimming with children. The beach is perfect for relaxing while reading a good book.
You can rest beside a huge rock found on the sandy beaches of Tingko.
You can also camp here overnight.
8. Lambug Beach
Lambug Beach in Badian has a long stretch of fine white sand.
This public resort is peaceful and quiet at night as there are no hotels.
There are a couple of karaoke machines but the stores don’t open for 24 hours.
Lambug Beach is perfect for a couple who wants a quiet and a peaceful island all to themselves.
9. Aloguinsan
For a sleepy little town located in the west, Aloguinsan actually boasts a lot of great summer getaways.
When in town, trying out its Bojo River Cruise is an excellent choice as one gets to enjoy the tranquil beauty of Bojo River.
At the end of the cruise, a perfect view of the Tañon Strait can be seen.
Other places of interest in the town are the two well known beaches: Hermit’s Cove and Hidden Beach.
10. Other Beaches in Cebu
One of the popular summer destination in Cebu is on the island of Mactan.
Here you will find some of the most luxurious resorts in Cebu.
So there you have it, I hope this list can give you some ideas on where to spend your summer in Cebu.
