The continuous rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in Cebu City is due to the city’s massive testing efforts.

Most of the cases are asymptomatic.

The city has recorded only 12 deaths so far..

The latest area placed under total lockdown is Sitio Bagongbuhay in Barangay Carreta with 43 cases recorded over the weekend.

As per report, the source of the infection was a couple who went to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where the wife gave birth.

When they came back to the community, they tested positive for COVID-19.

The local government conducted contact tracing, and most of their neighbors tested positive.
This prompted the city to place the sitio on lockdown.
